Liz makes a(nother) pair of crocheted slippers

Even though I just got back from Kentucky on Friday, my sister and I decided to visit my mom (four hours away) on Saturday. Her birthday was on Monday, and we made super creative cupcakes for her birthday party, I crocheted her some slippers and we had a ton of fun. We just got back today, and although I had a great time visiting, I can honestly say I'm glad to be home. I have only slept in my own bed once in the past 18 days! Anyway, here's the slippers I made for my mom:

I used the same exact pattern as these pair of slippers I crocheted awhile back, but instead of using one strand of thick, scratchy (Red Heart) yarn, I used two strands of thinner, softer yarn.
I also added a strap by chaining the length of the width of the slipper plus some. I probably chained about 40, but that will depend on the size of your own slippers. Afterwards, I just went back and forth until it was five rows tall. I hand sewed a pretty and vintage-looking button to the slipper too. I let my mom pick them out. Sorry for the blurry picture. I didn't take my camera and only had my phone.
Anyway, speaking of shoes and slippers, my mom, my sister and I made these super cute high heel cupcakes for my mom's birthday. Aren't they the cutest?
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! :) And as always, if you have any questions about the slippers I crocheted, or anything else, leave a comment below. I'll get back to you!

  3. These slippers are super cute! I love the fact that they have a strap on them, as mine tend to fall of easily! Not to mention I am a BIG fan of cakes and cupcakes too! I think that I will make them when I go to a friends party or something similar to the sort! I hope that you will get a GREAT night's sleep!
