Liz makes a crocheted yoga mat bag

Last night and all day today, I was busy procuring this cute crocheted yoga bag. It took a lot of time, but it wasn't exactly a difficult thing to crochet. I used the traditional granny stitch (you know the one, the one your grandma used for her famous granny square blankets). Cute, yeah?

There's two straps that are chain crocheted, so you can put the bag on like a backpack or put two straps over one shoulder, like you would a messenger bag.
The bottom is just a regular granny circle (the way you start a granny square, but forgetting to make the corners). The straps are also used to close the top of the yoga back, like a drawstring closure.
The burgundy and brown are both acrylic yarns, and the blue is a much softer wool/acrylic blend. I think the colors go well together. It it turned out way better than I thought it would!

By the way, it's raining! It hasn't rained here in Albuquerque, NM in I can't even remember how long. New Mexico has been and is still in a serious drought, and I can't tell you how happy I am for this rain. The door's wide open and I'm taking it all in! I love it.

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

    1. Yeah, I love the stitch! I made a giant granny square blanket (like, one big granny square) for my boyfriend's dad before and it was awesome! I'm so glad the earrings worked out. Take a picture and send it to me or put it on pinterest or something!
