Liz makes brownies with butterscotch chips

I had some leftover butterscotch chips from when I made these decadent cookies, so I decided to use them up today.. By making brownies! And let me tell you, these were the easiest brownies I've ever made. Oh, and they were quite delightful! They had a moist, fudgy texture and they melted in my mouth. They tasted heavenly.

Here's what you'll need:
Nonstick oil spray
1/2 cup unsalted butter*
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1/3 cup flour
(about) 1 cup butterscotch chips

*If you only have salted butter, then don't add the salt.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Line an 8x8 pan with foil and coat wth nonstick spray.
Melt your butter and mix with sugar and eggs. Then add in the rest of the ingredients and mix until incorporated. Do not overmix. Pour batter into your pan, making sure the top is smooth.
Sprinkle your butterscotch chips over the batter, adding more or less to your liking. (I added plenty.)
Bake until the top begins to crackle. Insert a toothpick when you think it's done. If it's a gooey mess on the end of your toothpick, put it back in the oven; if there are a few moist crumbs on the toothpick, it's done.
Using foil overhang, transfer to a cooling rack. Cut into squares when cooled completely. It's that simple!

Now you can dunk them in some milk!
Happy weekend everybody! What's the easiest dessert you've ever made?
Love, Liz

  12. Seems that you are really skilled in bakery - what a pity that I´m the opposite. I like - and think can - cooking but baking is a little bit problem for me.

Also you arranged all ingredients in a perfect harmonic :-)

Thank you for your effort and showing that.

  13. I am personally not a big fan of chocolate, but I do like brownies and fudge. There's something about the richness of both, plus the crusty, gooey-ness of brownies. Thanks for sharing this!

  15. I am making these now but wondering what the approximate cooking time is! Is it closer to 20 minutes or 45 minutes?? You never know! I would suggest putting some kind of approximation in your post. Thanks!

    1. I didn't add a baking time because ovens always vary -- I know mine does. With my oven, it was closer to 45 minutes. Like I said in the blog post: Bake until the top begins to crackle. Insert a toothpick when you think it's done. If it's a gooey mess on the end of your toothpick, put it back in the oven; if there are a few moist crumbs on the toothpick, it's done.
