Liz makes crocheted fingerless gloves

Hey everyone! It's been awhile, hasn't it? I'm finally done with this semester's classes. It has been a whirlwind, let me tell you. Not everything went as planned, but not everything does. I'm sorry I went MIA for a month and a half, but I'm back. So for this Christmas, my boyfriend's sister really wanted me to crochet her some fingerless gloves. She picked the colors "dijon mustard" and "rusty ketchup" for the gloves, which I thought was pretty specific and cool. I found a simple enough pattern online and made it my own. Here's how I made mine:

First, you'll need to chain a string of yarn as long as you want your gloves to be. Afterwards, double crochet as many rows until you think it can fit around your hand/wrist. Mine turned out to be sixteen or so rows.
(If you do not want the color-blocked look for these gloves, then skip this step.)
Now grab a contrasting color of yarn and single crochet along either the right or left side of your square. You want the new yarn row to be perpendicular to the rows on the square.
Now fold over your square so that the contrasting color strip is on the left side. Single crochet from the right to the left, and stop when you want your thumb-hole to begin.
Slip-stitch for six stitches.
Single crochet all the way to the end of the glove.
Turn it inside out and make another one to match.
Slip them on your wrists or give them away as gifts. Stay warm this winter!
What are you making for gifts this Christmas?

  1. Super cute! I love the look of these! Not only are they super cute but simple to make as well! As for what I'm making for Christmas gifts, I'm knitting a doll dress for one of my sisters and crocheting hats for my closest friends!

Glad you had time to blog!
