Red Heart -- Yarn {Review}

Earlier this week I received a package from Red Heart in exchange for me to review some of their products. You might have seen the picture I posted on Instagram as soon as I opened the package. I did not get paid to write this blog and all of my opinions expressed are solely my own and do not express the views or opinions of the good people at Red Heart.

When I excitedly opened my package, I saw that they had included 1 skein of this beautiful yarn called Unforgettable (in the color Petunia), 1 skein of another beautiful yarn called Treasure (in the color called Watercolors), a Red Heart tote bag, the November/December issue of a crochet magazine called Crochet Today, a set of knitting needles (they are called Tipping Points by Susan Bates), and a set of  Silvalume crochet hooks also by Susan Bates.
The picture above shows a swatch I crocheted with the Unforgettable yarn using the J-sized crochet hook. It's interesting, these crochet hooks have this in-line shaft that was a little awkward to get used to at first. I've read, however, that this type of in-line shaft helps reduce wrist motion to avoid fatigue and also helps maintain a consistent gauge, which I find is true. I am not a knitter by any means, but when I finally decide to take up knitting, I will use these Susan Bates knitting needles.
The magazine included was awesome! It had a ton of patterns, but I would say that they were more for advanced crocheters, not beginner crocheters. Also, a lot of the patterns were for hats, mittens and sweaters that are perfect for fall and winter. There were also a couple of cute children's crocheted toys. My favorite pattern is the sweater that's featured on the cover.
Well I hope you find this review interesting. I'm going to go crochet some Christmas presents or maybe try out knitting. :) I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I know I will.

    1. I tried knitting right after I wrote this post and I just couldn't do it! I will keep trying, but boy, I'm going to need a lot of help. :) Crocheting is super fun though; hope you try it!
