I have always loved peace signs and flower crowns and VW buses and wavy hair and The Beatles, etc. When my sister showed me a pair of barefoot sandals she made, I knew I had to make some for myself. They turned out really cute and with this easy pattern I slightly adapted from Jay's Boutique Blog, they're pretty easy too. Let's get started!
I used thin yarn and a D (3.25 mm) hook.
1. Chain (Ch) 4, join with slip stitch (sl st) to form a ring. Now make 10 single crochets (sc) into the ring. Join with a sl st.
2. 4 double crochet (dc) in next, dc in next 3, 4 dc in next, dc in next 2, 4 dc in next. Join with a sl st.
3. Ch 2, 5 dc in next, hdc in next 5, 5 dc in next, half double crochet (hdc) in next 4, 5 dc in next, hdc in next 3, sl st to join.
4. Ch 2, dc in next, 3 dc in next, hdc in next 10, 3 dc in next, hdc in next 8, 3 dc in next, hdc in next 6, sl st to join.
5. Ch 1, sc in next 2, 3 sc in next, sc in next 12, 3 sc in next, sc in next 10, 3 sc in next, sc in next 8, sl st to join.
6. Ch 2, hdc in next 2, 3 dc in next, hdc in next 13, 3 dc in next, hdc in next 11, 3 dc in next hdc in next 9, sl st in next 3. Sl st in next 4, ch 20, sl st in same. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
Now join yarn on one corner of the triangle. Chain about 50 or enough until it's long enough to your liking. Do this to the other corner of the triangle too. Make sure the chains are long enough to tie around the back of your ankle. You could even make them long enough to criss cross on your shins, like a ballerina.
Now all you have to do is make another one so you can have two: one for each foot. Since I used ombre yarn, mine turned out different than one another, but that's okay. I think it gives them character and I love them.

My sister and I have been wanting to make some of these for the last few summers. Thanks for putting a pattern out there that is easy enough for the both of us!!!
ReplyDelete<3 summer
No problem! Making it with embroidery floss would make some pretty awesome barefoot sandals too.
