There's something about garland that spruces up the most dilapidated spaces. It's so whimsical and versatile. It can go in any room (with the exception of a man cave) and make it brighter and funner. Here I've made two different garland tutorials. Both are extremely easy. Hope you enjoy them!
Newspaper and Colored Paper Garland
Supplies:
Sewing Machine
Newspaper
Colored paper
Scissors
Step 1: Trace newspaper and colored paper with anything circular you own -- glassware, spice jar caps, etc.
Step 2: Cut out all your traced circles. (If you have circle punches in several different sizes, you can skip these steps for an even easier garland tutorial!)
Step 3: Sew, sew, sew! Back stitch on your first circle, and continue sewing until you run out of circles, leaving space between each one. If you feel your newspaper is too thin, you can place a colored circle on top of a newspaper circle to give it a different feel and look.
Step 4: Hang!
Paint Chip Bunting
Supplies:
Paint chips
Scissors
String (Yarn, ribbon, etc.)
Hot glue gun
Step one: Choose your colors. You'll make about 15-20 of the triangles.
Step two: After you pick the colors you want, fold a paint chip in half.
Step three: Now cut from the middle of the bottom to the corners. Do this to a dozen and a half or so or until you're happy.
Step four: Grab a string (I crocheted a chain out of yarn, but you can use anything you want: ribbon, string, yarn, dental floss, whatever!)
Step five: Place it on a flat surface large enough to accommodate it (I used my dining room floor). Now start placing your bunting triangles however you want. Take color into consideration.
Step six: Grab a hot glue gun and start gluing the halves together.
Step seven: Now hang it somewhere!
Pretty cool, right? I loved how both of them turned out. They'd be perfect for a party or just everyday livin'. I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Love, Liz
