Today was a snow day here in Albuquerque! I thought I would do something fun and make some felt "paper" dolls. Remember the paper dolls we would play with when we were little girls? I do and I think they were awesome. I think these felt "paper" dolls would be perfect for a little girl as a birthday gift! Here's how to make them (and even a pattern!):
Here's the pattern. The clothes are pretty simple, but that's because you can (and should) put your own twist on them. If you want to make the doll and clothes smaller or bigger, just push CTRL + - or CTRL + + respectively. Cut out the pieces after you've printed the pattern.
With all of the pieces, you'll need to pin them to the colors of your choice.
And cut them out!
Now add your own twist to each item. Make the dress out of polka dot felt, the shorts out of sparkly felt and add little strips or pops of color by adding other pieces of felt or stitching with a little colored thread.
Looks great, right? Let me know what you think!
Love, Liz
These would be great for my younger siblings when we go on long road trips or even to keep them busy during church! Thanks for reminding me how cute and fun paper dolls are!
