Liz makes an envelope clutch

Sorry for not blogging for awhile. My internet was on the fritz! It's all good now though, so let's continue crafting!
I saw this awesome tutorial on See Kate Sew about how to make an envelope clutch a couple of days ago and knew I had to make one for myself.. I followed her tutorial pretty closely, but not to a T. There is a lot of leeway with this tutorial. Feel free to make it however you want to! Here's how I made mine:

First, you'll need to cut two 20" squares of fabric. It makes it easy to have a rotary cutter and a rotary mat. Choose a lining fabric and a patterned (or plain!) fabric for the outside. Just so you know, the purple fabric is my lining.
Fold the patterned fabric square into an envelope shape.
Pin the sides up.
Sew and trim the edges with pinking shears.
Now make the same exact thing with the lining fabric. Except this time, you'll need to leave a gap.
Now turn the lining inside out, so the right sides are on the outside. Place it inside the first envelope you made. The right sides of each envelope should be touching.
Pin them together. If I were you, I'd cut the little triangle off before I sewed. I waited until now to cut it so they would be even.
Now using the little gap, turn it all inside out. Warning: It will get wrinkled! :)
Buy some kind of snaps. I bought some magnetic ones, and they worked like a charm.
Sew them on. I used my machine; it was really simple!
Now you're done! It's really easy to iron out all of the wrinkles at this point.
Beautiful! :)
Love, Liz
