I pick up a paper every day while walking to my classes, and all of these school newspapers have been piling up in my backpack. I didn't want to throw them away, so the other day, I was searching Pinterest for some way to reuse them in a way I hadn't before. I found this blogger who posted a tutorial where she made box chains out of newspaper and made a wreath out of them. I decided to do it too. Here's how I did mine:
After you have connected four or five box chains together, wrap the big long chain around and around the embroidery hoop. Glue the ends together.
Do this again with a second super long box chain.
And then do it with a third! I think the original (the one I modeled mine after) had more but smaller (in width) chains. Tie a string or ribbon to the embroidery hoop and hang it on a wall or a door.
Pretty cool. Sometimes when I look at it, it sort of resembles crumpled up newspaper, but other times I see a beautiful wreath. Do you guys like it? :)
Have a great Monday everybody.

amazing! I feel like you should do more recycling projects like this, about maybe have a whole segment about it! this is an amazing way to take "trash" and make it beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Sometimes I feel like not many people appreciate recycled crafts so I don't do them as often, but I will definitely keep your comment in mind the next time I feel that way.
