Here's what I used:
Felt (three different colors)
Coffee can (small/medium sized -- 11.3 oz.)
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Oh, and a billion tissues because I had to blow my nose a billion times. Ew, gross.
First, I took off the label from the coffee can and washed it thoroughly.
Next, I cut a piece of felt to cover the can. I only used my glue gun twice for this, both on the back side of the can.Presto! You now have a felt covered coffee can.
Next, I made some little flowers. I made two smaller ones in light grey and one big one in white. You'll need to get a strip of felt, probably about an inch and a half to two inches in width and as long as you want. Fold it in half and glue it on the edges. Then, cut slits a quarter inch or so apart, a little over half way. Now grab your hot glue gun and start gluing like a mad woman. Glue, curl, glue, curl, glue, curl until you have a flower!
Then, using my hot glue gun once again, I glued the flowers onto the coffee can.
It's pretty cute, right? And it only took me fifteen minutes at the most. You could use any can for this project, like a soup can or something, as long as there were no sharp parts I think. I wouldn't want to cut myself every time I grabbed a pencil.
Alright everyone, have a great rest of the week!
Love, Liz
