Liz makes a Mario mushroom keychain

Today I made this cute little Mario mushroom keychain with felt. All it took was red, tan, white and black felt, paper for making the pattern, stuffing, a keychain loop, thread and a sewing needle! It was really easy, and I'm going to share with you how I did it. :)

I traced a mushroom of the size I wanted off of my computer screen (don't make fun of me. It worked didn't it?) and cut the pieces out.
I pinned the pieces to the felt and cut them out. Make sure to cut two red mushroom pieces, two tan face pieces, two side circles, two eyes and one whole circle.
Then I sewed all of the pieces on/together using a regular stitch and a blanket stitch. During this step, I decided to grab some extra felt and make a loop at the top so I can hang it from things.
I stuffed it with regular stuffing...
Then sewed the hole closed. I also chose to add a keychain loop on the top. It was pretty easy and I completed it while watching an episode or two of Malcolm in the Middle (mine and the boyfriend's new/old favorite)! :)
It's here in my Etsy shop, Essential Handmades, if you're not exactly sewing savvy.
Enjoy your weekend everybody!

Love, Liz
