I love Free People's clothing. I've never actually bought anything from their store, but I sure do love window shopping. I once saw a denim jacket with sweatshirt sleeves for $148. No way am I going to pay $148 for a jacket. I went to the thrift store today and I saw a denim jacket and thought, "hey, I wonder if I can find a sweatshirt here too..."
Well I found one. The denim jacket cost me $3.50 and the sweatshirt (which still had the tags on it -- score!) was $1.50.
Try and get a denim jacket and a sweatshirt where the sleeve sizes match.
Cut off the sleeves of the jacket as close to the hem as you can.
Do the same with the sleeves of the sweatshirt. Pin the sweatshirt sleeves to the jean arm hole opening, making sure the right sides are together.
Sew them together!
Turn right-side-out. Sew easy!
If the length of your jacket is good for you, then you can stop here. Mine was a tad too long so I chopped off a couple inches and hemmed it.
It's really comfortable. I can see myself wearing it this Fall.
Sew cute! I love the cropped look of it.
I think it's a great tomboy addition to any wardrobe. And only $5? Score!
Have a great weekend!
Love, Liz
