Liz makes a Napoleon Dynamite pinata

So, I'm having a Napoleon Dynamite party for my birthday this weekend. I'm so flippin' excited. For the party, I made a pinata designed to look like the Summer Wheatly pinata in the film. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures of the actual process because I thought it would be a complete and utter failure of a project. Anyway, here are some random pictures of the process and the finished product.
I made the basic body and head shape out of cardboard and lot of tape, and the arms and legs out of toliet paper rolls. I then covered the pinata by gluing strips of newspaper to it. Afterwards, I painted the whole thing skin-colored.
I used construction paper for the facial features. Tried to make it look as much like the one in the movie as possible. The clothes, hair, hands and feet are made out of tissue paper and crepe paper.
Here's the movie's version and my version side-by-side. Not too shabby, eh?
And here's me with it, looking all proud.
Now all I have to do is cut a little hole in the back so I can fill it with candy. I'll definitely be sure to take a ton of pictures of my party this weekend and share them here. I'm so excited! Have a great 4th of July everybody!
Love, Liz
