This weekend my mom and I made some spaghetti squash pasta for the first time. We saw the recipe/directions on Pinterest or some recipe website awhile back and thought this weekend would be a great time to try it. Here's how we did it and how you can do it too. You'll need a spaghetti squash, olive oil, salt, pepper and spaghetti sauce.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
First you need to get a good-sized spaghetti squash. We found one at the grocery store for $0.88 / lb. Cut it in half lengthwise. This was honestly the hardest part. I had to get Tyler in on the action because my mom and I couldn't do it.
After you've finally cut it open, dig out all of the seeds. Then spread some olive oil over the tops (or on the bottom of the pan), along with a few dashes of salt and pepper. Place the squash halves inside-sides down. Bake for about 50 minutes to an hour. When done, get a fork and scrape out all of the noodle-y looking stuff and put it into a big bowl.
Put some into a personal-sized bowl and place some prepared (jarred) spaghetti sauce over and serve with a piece (or two) or garlic bread.
It was great! I loved it and I hope you guys try it.

This is cool! I've never seen this! I might try it this weekend! If I do I'll tell you about it! But before I make it, I;ve got a few quick questions #1 Did you cook the squash unside down (so the inside was touching the pan?) #2 do you have the pin, to the instructions? I want top put it on my Pintrest! Have a lovely week!

Hi Summer! Like I said above, "place the squash halves inside-sides down." Which means the insides were touching the pan. Sorry if that was confusing. I don't really know what you mean by "do you have the pin to the instructions"? You could pin one of my pictures, or if these instructions aren't clear enough, I guess you could google another recipe.

When I made SS i actually cooked the whole squash for 50 minutes and THEN cut it up and scrapped it after it was all cooked. It was a bit hot to handle but wayyyy easy to cut, the knif went right through. Hopefully that helps for next time! :)

Great idea! And thank you for sharing your link! I just couldn't fathom putting that giant thing in my oven whole, lol. But if it works, it works! :)
