Liz makes a crocheted ice pack cover

I started crocheting this ice pack cover back when Tyler and I were still in Kentucky. I know, I know, it took me over a month to crochet something that should have taken a couple of hours, I know. I used a whole skein o cotton yarn, which is awesome by the way. It's super coarse and will soak up the condensation from the ice pack better than other yarns. Anyway, here's how I made this cute ice pack cover:

You'll need to chain stitch a few stitches more than the length of your ice pack. Mine was about 30 or so chain stitches. Then you'll go crazy with double crochets, making many rows. I crocheted 27 rows, but you could do more or less depending on how big your ice pack is. Also, instead of using an ice pack you could use one of those tiny, snack-sized plastic baggies and fill it with ice. That would work pretty well, I think.
Make sure to weave in all of your ends. If you don't know how to do that, a simple youtube search will help you out.
You'll want to fold the rectangle you just crocheted almost into thirds. You'll want it to look kind of like a clutch. Pin the sides down.
Single crochet the sides up, including the top flap. I used plain white yarn to single crochet the sides because I literally used all of the yellow/white yarn. Haha, oops!
Now place your ice pack in it!
Pretty cute, right? Much cuter than a pack of frozen peas wrapped up in a dish towel.
Have a great week everyone! What are your plans for the labor day weekend? I want to go camping!
